CHRIS RIDER PRESENTS THE OLDE TIME CONEY ISLAND STRONGMAN WORKSHOP

IMG_1576Chris “Hairculese” Rider is an internationally-known performing strongman who holds world records in license plate, phonebook, & tennis ball tearing. IMG_1595Rider is also featured in the award-winning film “Bending Steel”, which details the training journey of Rider’s protégé Chris “Wonder” Schoeck, as Schoeck pursues his dream of becoming a performing strongman. Chris has been extensively featured in the media, including the Science Channel’s ”Oddities”, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, The New York Post, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post.

IMG_1311But Chris Rider is just as busy behind the scenes. As a private coach, Chris is the ‘secret-weapon’ behind many of today’s top-level performing strongmen. IMG_1322Chris’s broad repertoire of feats and exceptional teaching skills make him a sought after, “go-to” source for the little-known physical and mental training techniques of this secretive art. Through both his performances and teachings, Rider is spearheading a resurgence of the traditions of the Coney Island Strongmen.

imageIn 2011, Rider teamed up with Adam Realman – the Dean and “Professa” at Coney Island USA’s Sideshow School, together they founded the Olde Time Coney Island Strongman Spectacular.IMG_3288 What started as a small theater show has exploded into an annual outdoor extravaganza in historic Coney Island and has begun touring in the United States. The Spectacular draws strength fans along with major media coverage nationally and internationally.

To continue the legacy of the olde time strongmen and expand the reach of this nearly-forgotten art form, Chris “Hairculese” Rider  now offers The Coney Island Strongman Workshop. In this amazing, one-day/8-hour workshop, Chris provides intensive small group coaching in traditional feats of strength, special training techniques, and cultivating the mindset needed to accomplish feats many view as impossible. In addition to helping students develop in what has been called “a life-changing activity”, he is also on the lookout for new talent. Who will be the next Coney Island Strongman?
